Start before the house hunt.
Mortgage lenders usually look at all three of your credit reports and at far more than credit. Corrections can take weeks. Starting months ahead is what makes the difference.
Start with your goal. No documents needed for this first step.

Who is this for?
First-time buyers who have never seen their reports, people planning to apply within the next six to twelve months, and anyone a loan officer has told to come back after addressing something on their credit.
Mortgage readiness is not mortgage qualification. CreditForwardRepair does not offer pre-approval, and a clean report does not by itself qualify anyone for a loan.
The problem
A mortgage application is the most thorough credit review most people ever go through. An error on any one of the three reports can affect the outcome, and an error discovered after you have found a home can cost you the home.
Bureau investigations generally take up to 30 days each, and follow-up rounds are common. That time has to come from somewhere, and it should come before you start looking.
What does CreditForwardRepair do, and not do?
What CreditForwardRepair does
- Reviews all three reports with a mortgage application in mind.
- Identifies inaccurate, duplicated or unverifiable entries and helps you dispute them well ahead of applying.
- Explains the parts of a mortgage decision that are not about credit, so there are fewer surprises.
- Helps you plan the timing so disputes have room to resolve.
What CreditForwardRepair does not do
- Offer mortgages, pre-qualification or pre-approval. CreditForwardRepair is not a lender or a broker.
- Guarantee approval, a rate, or a specific score by a specific date.
- Advise on down-payment assistance, loan programs or real estate. Ask your lender or a housing counselor.
- Remove accurate negative information.
What to prepare
Nothing is required to ask. These help.
- Pull all three reports, since a mortgage lender is likely to use all three.
- List every account, collection or public record you do not recognize.
- Note your target timeline for applying, so disputes can be sequenced.
- Write down the questions you have for a lender. A review helps you ask better ones.

Questions about mortgages and credit
Direct answers, with sources on the full FAQ.
Yes, and earlier than you think. Mortgage lenders typically look at reports from all three bureaus, so an error on any one of them matters.
Fixing a reporting error can take weeks, and you do not want to discover one after you have found a home. Reviewing your reports several months ahead gives disputes time to work.
Income and its stability, your debt-to-income ratio, your down payment and savings, the property itself, and the type of loan program you apply for.
Credit is one part of the picture. Mortgage readiness means getting that part accurate and understanding the rest so there are fewer surprises. CreditForwardRepair does not offer mortgages or pre-approvals.
Because there is no single credit score. Different scoring models, different versions of the same model, and different bureau data all produce different numbers.
A score from a free app, a score a lender pulls, and a mortgage-specific score can all differ for the same person on the same day. Lenders choose the model they use. Treat any one score as a general indicator, not the number a lender will see.
No. Accurate, verifiable negative information that is still within its reporting period generally stays on your report until that period ends.
According to the CFPB, most negative information can remain for up to seven years, and some bankruptcies for up to ten. Any company that promises to remove accurate information, or tells you to create a new credit identity, is describing something that is not legal. What you can do is make sure the rest of your report is right and build a positive record going forward.
It depends on how many items you dispute, how the bureaus and creditors respond, and whether follow-up disputes are needed. Nobody can honestly promise a fixed timeline.
What is fixed by law is the bureau investigation window: a bureau generally has 30 days to investigate a dispute, which can extend to 45 days in some circumstances. Several rounds may be needed when a response is incomplete. CreditForwardRepair explains where things stand at each stage rather than quoting a schedule it cannot control.
